Following the member survey over the past couple of years we have endeavored to address the issues highlighted, one of which being the lack of a dedicated short game practice facilities.
We are delighted to have begun construction on Monday 6 August on a facility which we are sure will not only meet, but exceed expectations. This investment follows great improvements in the Pro Shop and first tee experience, as well as continued investment across all three golf courses.
The facility will feature a 650sqm putting green, large bunker, multiple chipping and pitching angles, multiple artificial teeing areas, and full irrigation and drainage system to ensure the best condition is maintained throughout the year. As a unique feature for most short game areas, lighting will be installed to accommodate dusk practice and light the area to complement its design and presence.
DAY ONE OF CONSTRUCTION
FINAL CONCEPT DESIGN
In the coming weeks I will endeavor to provide regular updates depicting the progress that has been made and tasks that have been completed.
Our aim is to hold a grand opening around Spring 2019. We are considering appropriate names for the area and welcome members to share their thoughts, having an input on the project. If we feel an appropriate name is put forward then we will be more than happy to put this name to the facility.
The introduction of this facility will serve to strengthen our reputation amongst elite amateurs and professionals as a leading tournament venue. It will offer you a sanctuary to focus on your own golf development and enjoyment, and gives us an opportunity to evolve our already thriving junior programme under the guidance of our PGA Professionals which is key to our strategic direction and the future of the sport.
